Laurel Sofer, MD

Originally from Westchester, New York, Dr. Laurel Sofer earned her BA in Biology and Mathematics from the University of Rochester in New York. She received her medical degree from the American Program of Tel Aviv University in Israel and completed her surgical and urology training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Sofer is a proud member of the American Urological Society. She is also bilingual in Hebrew and English.

Dr. Sofer joined Z Urology in 2020. She specializes in the surgical and medical management of urologic disorders for both men and women. Her expertise includes procedures for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) such as HOLEP, rezum, and other minimally invasive procedures, kidney stone treatment, robotic surgery (Da Vinci platforms), female urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. Additionally, Dr. Sofer believes in building strong relationships with her patients and their families, taking the time to understand their unique needs and concerns. 

Outside of her practice, Dr. Sofer enjoys spending time with her three daughters, living a very active lifestyle with interests including exercising, coaching her daughter’s cheer team, cooking, and reading.
